Join artist Irene Rogan and botanist Richard Scott for a 3 mile walk and talk around Haverigg dunes. Uncover and explore the plants adapted to life in dunes, on the strandline, shingle and saltmarsh.

Irene Rogan is an artist local to Haverigg and Millom who explores bridging art and science in her work. Irene is working with Dynamic Dunescapes, a national project restoring sand dunes, in the area to create a community artwork in the environment. Get involved and find out about the project.

Richard Scott is a former botanist with the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology and has extensive experience surveying dune and saltmarsh habitats in Morecambe Bay, The Wash, Essex, Shetland and Outer Hebrides. Now involved in promoting renewable energy, Richard will be leading the walk and talk.

Please bring sensible clothing and footwear. You may wish to bring your own refreshments. Cattle may be present. Subject to weather.

Meet outside of Haverigg Inshore Rescue building at the end of Sea View, Haverigg, LA18 4ES

Free parking and facilities available.

Nearest train station: Millom station
