A venture into the hidden Duddon Estuary and Haverigg Dunes, for an afternoon or evening of artworks, writing, film, live event and photography.
Dynamic Dunescapes and Cumbria Wildlife Trust worked closely with artist Irene Rogan in 2021, who is part of an upcoming 'Unpublished Tour'. The final exhibition will feature a film about our colaboration and Irene will launch a website containing her work funded by the Dynamic Dunescapes art grants.
This event will be held at Millom Palladium. Free entry and refreshments to both parts of the day:
Part 1: 2pm-4pm See all the Dynamic Dunescapes community events from the summer and wonderful work with local schools, residents and visitors at Haverigg Dunes and an exhibition of artworks inspired by the Duddon.
Part 2: 6pm-9.30pm Come along and see the results of their work in a variety of artistic approaches and media — from environmental interventions, writing and performance to film and photography — and the ways it engages with a landscape in the process of change. Book your free ticket using the link below.
Unpublished Tour is an arts programme that engages with the hidden and inaccessible edges along the Duddon Estuary and the restoration of Haverigg Dunes. Since August, artists and community participating in Unpublished Tour have explored these places from the land and the water as sites for shared creative journeys.
Come along and see the results of their work in a variety of artistic approaches and media — from environmental interventions, writing and performance to film and photography — and the ways it engages with a landscape in the process of change. In total, the works that comprise Unpublished Tour reveal the characteristics, features and qualities that mark the Duddon estuary and the surrounding landscape as a place in need of special protection.
