Join Cumbria Wildlife Trust for these dune survey days to help monitor the species found in the sand dunes.

Tuesday 8th August: Dune Plant Survey Day – Sandscale Haws Nature Reserve, Hawthwaite Lane, Barrow in Furness, Cumbria, LA14 4QJ
In this survey session, you will learn to identify some of the plant species that can be found on the dunes and help to record the species occurring in different habitats within the survey, helping us to understand the health of the dunes on the site. Participants new to dunes are very welcome, as are returning volunteers. Please bring sensible clothing and footwear, a packed lunch and any refreshments you’d like – all other equipment will be provided.
Wednesday 9th August: Dune Habitat Survey Day – South Walney Nature Reserve, 1 Coast Guard Cottages, Walney, Barrow-in-Furness LA14 3YQ
In this survey session, you will learn how to identify different dune habitat types and how to record changes in the dune’s profile across a transect line, using the Dunescapes App. Participants new to dunes are very welcome, as are returning volunteers. Please bring sensible clothing and footwear, a packed lunch and any refreshments you’d like – all other equipment will be provided.
