Are you interested in ecological monitoring? Do you want to gain experience or utilize your skills out in the field?

We're looking for volunteers to train as citizen scientists to help us monitor the health of our dunes. This is part of a long term project and will involve various techniques including fixed point photography, habitat and dune profile surveying along transects and flora surveying.

We will be working at Mawbray Banks Nature Reserve with Solway Coast AONB and at Sandscale Haws National Nature Reserve with National Trust

We will work with you to allocate you the most suitable areas for you to survey. Each survey is to be undertaken once annually. Transects and photos are to be undertaken between April and May and quadrats to be undertaken between June and August. We will be encouraging volunteers to coordinate and work together to collect data in the dunes.

Training will be given.
