Family Friendly Christmas Card Workshop – Cornwall
A fun & free art workshop for adults & families to learn about the unique and rare plant Sea Holly whilst creating your own Christmas card!
Join artist Hilary Jean Gibson and Dominica Williamson for a fun and free art workshop, for adults and families (children aged 8+), at Gwithian Chapel. Participants will learn about the unique and rare plant Sea Holly. By first using hand lenses and making time to really 'see', then by drawing and printmaking the artists will help you explore this plant in its autumnal sculptural state as well as look at how the world sees it.
We will be working on the ground outside and exploring the sea holly in its natural sand dune habitat so you will need to wear clothes suitable for the dunes. We will then move inside to create unique and exciting, expressive prints that you can turn into Christmas cards. No experience is required.
In case of wet weather, we will move this event indoors.
What to bring
Please check the weather forecast and consider bringing a hat, layers, a waterproof coat and fingerless gloves etc and a cushion to sit on is also a good idea. Clothes may get messy and we will be using ink during the crafting, please bring an apron or old shirt as inks could stain clothing. Please also bring water and some lunch - tea and biscuits will be provided!
We will meet at Gwithian Chapel at 10.10 a.m.
